Geoger is pleased to announce the award of a new Defra consultancy contract. We are part of a consortium led by Specto Natura Ltd along with APMGeo Ltd which is tasked to operationalise the creation of a set of generic indicator products under the Earth Observation Data Integration Pilot (EODIP) project framework.
The project takes the technical specification for an operational system developed in a previous phase and seeks to generate these products soon after the images are downloaded from the satellites as possible. The series of data products will allow greater exploration of vegetation changes across the UK. This project will be using wholly open data and open-source software.
The resultant products have the potential to be used for a variety of topics in agriculture, forestry as well as for habitat and biodiversity monitoring. Geoger’s role within the project is as the technical lead developing a solution using open source software, based on previous workflow development and proof-of-concept data processing.
Geoger is excited to be working alongside Specto Natura and APMGeo once again and looks forward to helping provide working solutions to the JNCC and Defra.
